Electronic gadgets often come with a Quick Start Guide, also known as, “If you won’t read the instruction manual, at least read this one page, you lazy bum.”

SO... one of our riders, Kara, gave us this great idea: Kara’s Quick Start Guide. If you don’t want to read all of this lovely yet annoying web site, here’s the minimum you need to know to have fun on the ride*

When Is the Ride

Saturday June 19, 2010

How Long Is It?

There are four routes -- your choice:

30 miles • 66 miles • 100 miles • 145 miles

We ask you which route you are thinking about when you register, but on ride day you can pick any route.

How Do I Register?

There’s ONLY one way -- click here.

How Much Does It Cost?

Prices start at $99.99. Kids 12 and younger rider free.  All the details here.

Day-Before Check-In and Bike Loading

If you want you can check in the day before the ride, which gets you riding faster on ride day. This is optional. Details here.

Where and When Do I Show Up on Ride Day?

Just look below for the distance and start line you prefer.

There is no mass start -- you can start to pedal as soon as you check-in.

How Do I Get Home from Montauk?

This is a one-way ride -- it ends in Montauk, NY and you need to find a way home for your bike and you. These are your choices:

  1. Get a lift home from a friend. Driving directions here.

  1. Take our optional transportation home on Saturday immediately after the ride.

  1. Take our optional transportation home on Sunday -- the day after the ride.

Transportation details here.

Anything Special I Need to Know?

  1. We ride rain or shine -- no rain date

  2. Helmets mandatory

  3. Bring a cell phone if you can

  4. Free showers after the ride - bring a towel, soap, and change of clothes

That’s it!

*A friendly note from Glen, your tour director and humble servant who loves you no really.  If you decide to just read this one page and skip the rest of the web site, that’s cool... see you on the ride!

BUT... if anyone emails to state:

  1. “I read the one-page summary, but how come there wasn’t any info on [some topic that is covered clearly in excruciating detail elsewhere on this web site]?”

...that person will be immediately transfered to our help desk in Bangalore, India.

Of course if you DO read the web site, or at least TRY, and STILL can’t find the info you want, by all means drop us a note! I’m always glad to hear from you and will answer your question personally.

OK?  OK!
